Introduction to Navigation
All the lines and symbols can make maps seemingly impossible to interpret. Our introduction to navigation course will start to demystify these amazing tools of navigation so you can become more confident navigating the hills.
Most of the day will be spent in the hills interacting with the map and compass in the real world. Group of 5.

Intermediate Navigation
If you feel confident with navigating on paths, are confident with handling a map and compass and now want to take your navigation to the next level, our intermediate navigation course might but just the thing you are looking for.
We will build on the skills you already have so you can navigate off-path and safely get off the mountains when the weather turns bad.
Teaching you skills such as pacing, timing, and some more advanced navigation techniques to map read effectively using features on maps and relating them to what you see on the ground.

Advanced Navigation
This half day course will give you the skills to help you navigate in some of the most challenging situations you might find yourself in (not including winter conditions) in British mountains. We will build on your experience of utilising existing map and compass skills so you can safely navigate off path in the thickest fog.
This course will start in the afternoon giving you the opportunity to hone those skills and apply them to night navigation (which is the same as poor visibility). Some time will be spent in the classroom at the beginning of the day, with most of the time being spent in the hills.
There will be no more than 5 people on the course.
