A Bit More About the Challenge

This is a challenge that requires fitness, stamina, and a dose of good fortune, especially with the weather.

The first peak is the infamous Crib Goch (923m) with its knife-edge ridge and big drops which demand a head for heights. Then its on to Carnedd Ugain (1065m), & Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) (1085m) before a 900m decent into Nant Peris for our 1st pitstop.

We can't stop long before the steady but long 750m ascent up to Elidir Fawr (924m), Y Garn (947m), the luna landscape of Glyder Fawr (999m) and Glyder Fach (994m). Then we get to the mighty Tryfan (917m) which has been voted the nations favourite mountain.

After our 2nd pitstop in the Ogwen Valley, we face our last big ascent of the day, 668m up Pen Yr Ole Wen (978m). We then dig deep and knock off the final five to complete the challenge, Carnedd Dafydd (1044m), Yr Elen (962m), Carnedd Llewellyn (1064m), Foel Grach (976m) and finally Foel Fras (942m).
But it's not over quite yet, we will finish with a 2 hour walk to the carpark, relishing in our victory!

FAQs

-
What if I don’t have all the kit
-
Don’t let that stop you, drop us a line and we can work it out, and we have some things you can borrow
-

-
-
How fit do I have to be?
-
You need to be on your feet, walking for up to 20(ish) hours and there is a lot of uphill. It is a big walk, but if you are reasonably fit and have been in hills before you should be fine. We’d recommend doing a 20km for practice.
-

-
-
Who will be there?
-
The short answer is we will find out on the day. However, we generally have a wide range of ages and a mix of genders. We find walking with people is a great way to get to know them, especially when we have walking as a common interest.
