DERWENT EDGE

Service Description

Combining fascinating geological features, an abundance of wildlife and amazing views, this is a walk for everyone. We start the walk by crossing the Derwent Dam and continue along the Ladybower Reservoir. From here we quickly gain height onto Derwent Moor. Walking along Derwent Edge offers amazing views across to Win Hill and the Derwent Valley, as well as showing off fascinating gritstone rock formations. Black Tor is next with its wonderful views, continuing on to Lost Lad and into Sheepfold Clough and down to Abby Brook. Once at the edge of Derwent Reservoir we make our way along shore back to the car The distance is approximately 10 miles/16 kilometres, with a height gain of 1,690 feet/516 metres. The cost is £38 per person.
