Service Description

Scafell Pike is the highest point in England at 978m and this big mountain offers big rewards. Setting out from Seatoller and seeing the towering mountains can feel a little overwhelming, yet also exhilarating at the same time. But at a nice steady pace we will conquer this mountain. Having made our way up Styhead Gill we catch our breath and soak in the beauty as the impressive Great Gable rises above us. Then it’s up the Corridor Route where we will catch our breath before the final ascent to the top of the highest point in England. Weather permitting the views make it all worthwhile, as does that brief moment of knowing that you are the highest person in England. Then after lunch and rest, we set off for some more stunning views. Out next stop is Great End, which offers one of our favourite views in the Lake District, all the way up Derwent Water. From here we skirt around the back of Great End, descending to Sprinkling Tarn. Here it is worth taking a look back to take in the grandeur of Great End from below. We then pick up Ruddy Gill which will take us back to the familiar Stockley Bridge back through Seathwaite and on to Seatoller. Arriving back at the cars with a great sense of accomplishment. The distance is approximately 16 kilometres/9.5 miles, with a height gain of 1150 metres/3,800 feet
